Privacy policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
This policy covers the JEE Arc app for Android and iOS and the website at jee.alror.com, both run by Alror (“we”). It describes exactly what we collect, why, and how you can remove it. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
What we collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, profile picture | When you sign in (through our sign-in provider, Kinde) | To create your account and show who is signed in |
| Practice activity: questions answered, your chosen option, whether it was correct, time spent | When you answer a question while signed in | Progress, accuracy, streaks, revision queue, study plan and analysis |
| Saved questions, study-plan task status, custom papers | When you save, tick or create them | To keep them across devices |
| Target exam and year | When you set them | To show relevant papers and plan to the right date |
| Plan and subscription status | When a plan is assigned to your account | To unlock paid features |
| Push notification token and device platform (Android/iOS) | When you are signed in on the app and allow notifications | To send you notifications you can turn off at any time |
| Technical request data: IP address, browser or app version, time of request | On every request, in server logs | Security, abuse prevention and fixing errors |
Practising without an account is possible. As a guest, nothing about your answers is sent to us; unfinished sessions are stored only on your device.
Stored only on your device
- Working notes you write on questions, unfinished sessions and the subject/topic catalogue cache.
- App preferences: theme, daily question target, target year, onboarding status and study-reminder time.
- Study reminders are scheduled locally by your phone; we are not involved in sending them.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes these.
Who processes data for us
- Kinde handles sign-in and holds your login identity (email, name, picture).
- Expo (EAS) relays push notifications to Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service, and delivers app updates. Only your device token and the notification text pass through them.
- Our hosting provider runs the server and database that store your account and progress.
We share data with no one else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account data and practice history are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, they are removed from our database immediately, and from backups within 7 days, when the rolling nightly backups expire. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and fixing errors.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account and data in the app (You → Account → Delete account) or on the web at jee.alror.com/delete-account.
- Turn off notifications in the app's Study reminders screen or in your phone's settings.
- Access or correct your data, or ask any privacy question, by emailing manas@alror.com. We reply within 30 days.
Students under 18
JEE Arc is built for students preparing for entrance exams, many of whom are under 18. We collect only what is listed above, show no ads and do no profiling for marketing. If you are under 18, please use the app with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's account by writing to manas@alror.com.
Security
Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in tokens on the phone are kept in the system's secure storage. Access to the database is restricted to our server.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. For significant changes we will also tell you in the app.
